I have been established in the sport of dogs for 32 years.
Member in good standing with the American Kennel Club, American Manchester Terrier Club, Canadian Manchester Terrier Club,
Baytown Kennel Club (all breed), English Toy Terrier (Black and
Tan) Club in the UK and the Boston Terrier Club of America.
Breed information is always available. I cordially welcome all inquiries regarding the breed and will be as helpful to you as possible in answering your questions and deciding if the Manchester Terrier is the "right" breed for you! My ability to remain highly active in the American Manchester Terrier Club on various Committee's such as Chair of the Breed Standard Committee, Chair of the Judges' Education Committee, Member of the Archive/Historian Committee, and holding a position on the Board of Directors has been and continues to be very rewarding.
Sadly, my 28 year marriage to my husband, Bill, ended with his untimely death in December of 2000. Bill will long be remembered for his deep devotion, many wonderful contributions and dedication to this wonderful breed.
I have owned and bred Top Ten Nationally Ranked, Multi-Group Winning and Placing, Obedience Titled, Hall of Fame, Register of Merit and Canine Good Citizenship Manchesters along with Best in Specialty and Best Veteran in Show, Agility, and Flyball competing dogs that have gained their titles! Our dogs have been active in Herding Instinct and Earth Dog Testing as well.
We got our start in the "guard dog" breeds of Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers and Bouvier des Flandres that found us highly active in Conformation, Obedience, Tracking, Schutzhund, Search and Find and Breeding. We have always been active in Kennel Clubs on a national and local level, along with promoting health and education of the dog. As we got older, we decided that a smaller breed would be better suited for us. It would have to be a large dog in a small package and our attraction was drawn to the Manchester Terrier in the mid-1980s.
I'm proud to say, I am truly dedicated to this wonderful breed. The goals of preservation of the breed, education and health issues are high on my list of priorities for the Manchester. My breeding program speaks for itself, as far as, the many successes in exhibiting and breeding. Presently, I am into my sixth generation of breeding quality Standard Manchester Terriers!
Here at Wilane, I've strived for quality in and out of the ring. Health and temperaments of our terriers are of utmost importance. All of our puppies go through Temperament Testing. I firmly stand behind my integrity, reputation and the guarantees of my manchesters. My breeding stock has been health tested and documented for vWD, Thyroid and Eye's Cerf'd.
I firmly believe that you only get out of a dog what you put into it!
Being totally addicted to the history of our breed, finds me an avid collector of Manchester Memorabilia! Please take the time and visit my Archives page on this website!
